ITS SPRINGTIME – ITS DISNEY WORLD – ITS MAGIC MASTERS


Magic Masters celebrates almost seven fantastic years in Disney World in Florida. For those of you that have not visited us yet, we are easy to find: located in Downtown Disney, which does not require any ticket to enter! This fabulous area is a visitor’s paradise, including Cirque du Soleil, Planet Hollywood, Virgin Megastore, Disney Quest, AMC 24 Theatres, House of Blues, Pleasure Island and loads of great specialty stores. At the opposite end of the street from Pleasure Island, towards Cirque du Soleil, is a large plaza called the Westside Hub. It is surrounded by Wolfgang Puck Café, Virgin Megastore, Bongos Cuban Café and AMC 24 Theatres. If you stand anywhere in this plaza and search the skyline you will soon see a ten foot high top hat with a huge magic wand inside (see photo). Magic Masters is directly below this giant icon. Magic Masters in Disneyworld is another classic themed magic emporium, with mahogany bookcases filled with new and old magic books and memorabilia. Oriental rugs, a fireplace with marble façade and a secret teaching room entered through a hidden panel in a bookcase, complete the sensation that you are in a magician’s library or den. As in all Magic Masters emporiums, magicians demonstrate new and classic magic effects, close-up and right before your eyes. And, don’t miss a new addition this year! A live performance in front of the store, called Its Showtime, with lots of audience participation, featuring parlor and stage illusions and culminating with a volunteer from the audience disappearing right before your eyes! Oh yes, before we get any emails, the volunteer does reappear later…and all of this occurs right before your eyes, with no cover at any time!

Can You Pull a Rabbit out of your Hat?

Other than “Can you make my wife disappear?” the question above is probably the most asked of magicians. Pulling a rabbit out of an empty hat has been associated with magicians for more than one hundred and fifty years, yet most people, even magicians, do not know the origin of this effect. “GOLFERS ALERT !

If you are a golfer or know a golfer, here is a brand new effect called Tee Time, that you can carry in your pocket. Here is the effect – you open a small, drawstring bag and take out three different colored golf tees and a ball marker. You place the three tees in a row, upright with the flat end of each tee on the table. You then take out the ball marker and place it, flat end on the table in front of the three tees. You then announce that you have made a prediction. The spectator is then asked to think of one of three different colored tees and then slide the ball marker to the front of that tee. When that has been done, you reveal your prediction, which states that the spectator will select the same colored tee as your prediction! There is no sleight of hand and once you know the secret you will be performing this trick immediately.
